Finding the right way to communicate.
What is Advertising copy anyway, is it words?
Is it a method of writing that produces sales?
Good copy may be something more than what you think it is.
Developing copy is all about what you say and how you say it.
In the real world, words say things about those that speak them…
Words still carry weight, though pictures may have the upper hand in the meaning department, words used in the right way can do more than just create and generate sales it can create ideas that could change the way we think about the world.
Copy is what a skilled writer creates to entice a consumer to make a purchase, usually it involves telling a story, a story that is an old one, from the beginning of time the process of product creation, advertising and selling a product for consumption has not really changed all that much, a message is still what creates the desire to purchase a product.
One of the best methods of insuring that your copy is good enough is to ask yourself a question does this make me want to buy that product, can I taste it? Can I imagine myself in that situation?
Can you feel the salt air blowing through your hair on that cruise ship as the evening sun lowers in the sky and the light lightly touches her face and the smile you see there, the look in her eyes is something you cannot buy, it is something you can only experience.
Review Your Copy and Refine it, then you can be sure that, it is what you want it to be.
The Internet reader is not as interested in every single word of the copy: There are often times where the reader may not be interested in some of the same things that the writer is interested in writing about.
In fact many readers do not read through the copy at all but scroll down to the bottom of the text to see about one thing and one thing alone, is it affordable?
Copy is your ticket to getting a reader to begin the process of becoming your customer.
Begin the process of analyzing the copy,
- would I read this?
- Is it too long?
- Is it too short?
- Does it cover facts not in evidence?
Do you have all your facts straight, and all of them written into your copy in a concise manner?
Stick to the key points with short sentence structure, less is more.
Is the copy written with the right grammar and syntax?
You know what most people could care less, what I mean is this, unless your selling a product that teaches English, truly don’t worry about these people going around talking about how you must be correct in all aspects of English.
Can I say that you know what we are not in English class anymore, very few of us actually made an A in English class and those people are probably reading your copy.
You might be surprised: people will talk via text shortcuts on your local forum or mailing list, and in fact this is quickly becoming a new normal mode of communicating, in text format.
